What Premium Brands Say About Our Foil Labels

★★★★★

“The gold hot foil stamping on our Cabernet Sauvignon labels is absolutely stunning. The registration between the foil and the printed base is perfect — we’ve had zero complaints from our distributors. Nurvyn’s prepress team caught a trap issue in our artwork that would have caused problems.”

JL
James L.
Winemaker, Napa Valley Estate Winery
★★★★★

“We switched to Nurvyn for our luxury skincare line after being disappointed by two other suppliers. The rose gold foil labels they produced for our serum range are exactly what we envisioned — the foil is consistent across the entire run and the soft-touch lamination feels premium.”

Brand Director, Premium Skincare Brand, France
★★★★★

“We needed embossed gold foil labels for our single malt whisky range with a very tight 10-day deadline. Nurvyn delivered on time with zero defects. The embossing depth is consistent across all 50,000 labels and the foil adhesion is excellent even in cold storage conditions.”

AM
Alistair M.

★★★★★

“Our artisan honey brand needed gold foil labels that could withstand humidity and temperature fluctuations. Nurvyn recommended a BOPP substrate with permanent adhesive and the results have been perfect. The labels look incredible on our amber glass jars.”

★★★★★

“We use Nurvyn for our entire premium supplement line — gold foil labels on white BOPP with matte lamination. The cold foil process gives us much finer text detail than hot stamping, which is critical for our ingredient lists. Pricing is very competitive for the quality level.”

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Hot foil stamping uses a heated die to transfer metallic foil from a carrier film to the substrate under pressure — ideal for solid metallic areas, logos, and borders with a deep, tactile impression. Cold foil printing uses UV-cured adhesive to bond foil without heat or dies — enabling photographic-quality foil effects, fine text, and complex gradients. Cold foil is better for intricate designs and short runs; hot stamping is preferred for traditional luxury aesthetics.
We accept PDF, AI, EPS, and PSD files. For hot foil stamping, the foil areas should be on a separate layer or spot color (typically named “Foil” or “Gold”). For cold foil, standard CMYK artwork is sufficient. All files should be supplied at 300 DPI minimum with 3mm bleed. Our prepress team will review your artwork and provide a free digital proof before production begins.
Yes — foil-registered embossing is one of our specialties. We can apply hot foil stamping and embossing in a single pass using combination dies, or in two separate passes for more complex effects. Foil-registered embossing (where the embossed area exactly matches the foil area) creates a premium three-dimensional effect that is particularly popular for wine, spirits, and luxury cosmetics labels.
Yes. Our metallic foil labels use FDA-compliant adhesives and substrates for food contact applications. The foil itself does not come into direct contact with food — it is applied to the outer surface of the label. We can provide material safety data sheets (MSDS) and FDA compliance documentation for any of our substrates and adhesives upon request.
There is no minimum order quantity. We produce custom metallic foil labels in quantities from 100 to 10 million+. For hot foil stamping, a one-time die charge applies for custom shapes; standard shapes (rectangle, oval, round) incur no tooling charge. Digital foil and cold foil processes have no tooling charges at any quantity.
Our metallic foil labels are finished with a protective laminate (gloss, matte, or soft-touch) that protects the foil from scratching, scuffing, and peeling under normal handling conditions. For applications requiring extra durability — such as labels that will be handled frequently or exposed to moisture — we recommend a polyester (PET) substrate with a heavy-duty laminate. All our foil labels pass standard adhesion and scratch resistance tests before shipment.
Standard lead time is 7–14 business days from artwork approval. Rush production (5–7 business days) is available for an additional charge. Lead time depends on order complexity, quantity, and whether new dies need to be made. We will confirm the exact lead time when you place your order.
